DAYLIGHT SAVINGS
EXAMPLE 1: Prep Ahead of Time (Preferred method)
• Normal bedtime is at 7:00 PM.
• Wednesday 10/30= Bedtime at 7:15 PM
• Thursday 10/31 = Bedtime at 7:30 PM
• Friday 11/1 = Bedtime at 7:45 PM
• Saturday 11/2 = Bedtime at 8:00 PM
• Sunday 11/3= Bedtime "falls back" to 7:00 PM (which will be back on track for your child)
EXAMPLE 2: Wait for the change
• Do nothing ahead of time
• Sunday wake up and change the clocks after a cup of coffee (plan a chill day)
• Sunday-Tuesday "split the difference" - if your child normally goes to bed at 7:00 PM, put them to bed at 6:30 PM for these three nights
• Wednesday-Friday push bedtime 15 minutes earlier (in this example 6:15)
• Once your child seems to have adjusted, return to the normal time of 7:00 PM
